CALCULATION ENGINE

Accurate and trustworthy calculations are critical to successful businesses. Often these calculations are embedded within Excel spreadsheets where domain experts have been amending them over time. The problem with this approach is that typically very few individuals know how to make changes to this spreadsheet or even how it works. The business also has no control over the calculation integrity and cannot easily monitor or record the results for future analysis.

The Calculation Engine is being developed to address the challenge of managing calculations while making it easier for domain experts to apply changes. When a calculation is created the integrity can be verified by creating and attaching tests that validate the results match expectations for a given set of inputs. 

Once a calculation has been created it can be used in other calculations which allows the building of complexity in an intuitive way. Any changes to a calculation will automatically test all other dependant calculations so you can be certain that other results have not been impacted.

Auditing is provided for each calculation to make tracing how results have been derived as easy as possible. Metrics are also available that can detail how often and at what times calculations are being used. 

The Calculation Engine can be used as a stand-alone solution or integrated with other JungleAnt solutions and external systems to provide powerful and reliable results where they are needed most.
